In 1973, the first women association was established in UAE. It was Abu Dhabi Nahda Women Association, followed by Dubai Women Association in Dubai and Women Association of Umm Al Qayawin and Al Ittihad Women Asociation Sharjah. Then in 1974, Umm Al Momineen Women Association in Ajman was established.
In 27 August 1975, Women General Union was established with Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak as his president, and all women associations joined it.
