The mission of this department is to conduct research on economics and society with the objective of providing recommendations that facilitate future policies for the UAE. It also analyzes economic transformations on the local, regional, and international levels that may impact the security and stability of the UAE. The department formulates plans and programs that help to preserve the high standard of living in addition to stable economic growth for UAE citizens.



In order to meet this general objective, the department performs a number of duties with emphasis on long-term developmental trends:



Examining fluctuations in the energy market and their subsequent impact on the national economy.

Identifying economic sectors that enhance and diversify national competitiveness.

Providing policy makers with timely reports on these trends.

Researching the national labor market and demographic composition.

Developing and updating plans for national economic development.
