SASMA is a non-governmental Organization, enjoying an administrative and financial autonomy. Its aims are:
To encourage national cadres to specialize in sports medicine.
To offer scientific and academic consultations to clubs, federations and national teams (e.g..on physiological evaluations, sports injuries, doping, nutrition rules, evaluation of health specialists in clubs and federations…
To contribute to spreading health awareness and guidance among athletes and youths.
To encourage studies, researches, translations and publications in the fields of sports medicine and offer possible assistance.
To organize sports medicine conferences, symposia, seminars and courses.
To issue sports medicine journals and periodicals which also cast some lights on the Association news and relations.
History
SASMA was established by of Royal Decree # 26857 on 31 August 1982 as an affiliate to the General Presidency of Youth Welfare.
