Business and Computer University College has its roots in the American University of Hawaii(AUH) Lebanon Local Study Center , a creation of the Center for Educational Research and Computer(CERC) in the late 1990s, under the supervision of American University of Hawaii in Maui, State of Hawaii, USA. Over the years it has served the people of Lebanon well, even (in 1998) arranging with AUH to offer university-level programs and courses. Public demand, for greater locally available post-secondary opportunities has increased. As a result, the CERC and the AUH programs were merged and Business and Computer University College was officially born on August 7, 2000 by act of Lebanese presidential decree number 3585/2000, replacing the AUH Lebanon Local Study Center, and taking over its buildings and facilities
