The mission of BPW – Amman is to develop a comprehensive framework of structure to provide the necessary education, advocacy , networking, training, professional support and opportunity for the empowerment and active participation of women in the social, business and economic development of the country and to assure their rightful place in all decision making process.
History
It was established in 1976. It is the largest & the most active of the four associations that form the Jordanian Federation of Business & Professional Women which is affiliated with BPW – International known as the International Federation of Business and Professional Women. Chang its name to Business & Professional Women Forum in 10/10/2002
Constitutional Framework
he Forum came to finish the transfert procedure from the Ministry of Social Development to the Ministry of Interior, which means that the Forum is totaly independent from National Union of Business Women association.
Mode of Election
It is directed by an active committee of nine members who are elected every three years, and the participation of the Immediate Past President, as advisor. BPW – Amman has offices and working space for the main programs of the association.
Mode of Finance
5% of the Financement comes from the members participations(There is 300 members, and their participation is 30 JD/year), and 80% from the financement from Local & International donations, and the last 15% comes from the banks interest rates.
