The company was established by virtue of president of the Republic decree No. 2456/1964 The name of the company was modified by virtue of the general assembly resolution on 16/12/1974 to be the “ The General Egyptian Company for Buildings “ . In conformity with public work sector law No 203/1991 and its executive regulations , the company has become a joint stock company and affiliated to the National company for Construction and Development .
Scope of activities according to the last modification of the corporation charter :
The execution of all construction and public works related to all works of engineering , contraction , reconstruction , buildings , roads, airport ,bridges , electric power plants , irrigation, steel and mechanical works in all kinds , utilities ,Construction of factories , manufacturing and trading wood bricks , tiles in all kinds concrete posts, pipes and drainage tunnels implementation of local and international agencies , real estate investment , buying , selling, and dividing lands , constructing, exploitation and selling building whether alone or in corporation with other parties . The company is entitled to participate with bodies practicing similar works or bodies that may assist the company in achieving its goals in Egypt or abroad or to buy or affiliate such bodies in conformity with public business sector low No . 203/1991 and its executive regulations.
