Transco is responsible for:
The operation and maintenance of water pumping stations and trunk water lines tubes water pipe lines plus the transmission of electricity.
The development and servicing of the Water and Electricity.
Transmission Codes.
Metering and Data Exchange Code.
The Economic and Technical Dispatch of Production Facilities.
The system for the Settlement activities.
Constitutional Framework
Transco was created as legal entity on January 1st 1999 from the transmission element of the Water and Electricity Department. It is now a subsidiary company of the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity authority, wholly owned by the Government of Abu Dhabi. However, the company is obliged to operate on a commercial basis.
