Engineering Materials Laboratory Section′s job is to:
- Provide various testing services (physical, mechanical, chemical, petrographic) on construction materials and on behalf of the Municipality, the private sector and federal as well as other government organizations in order to determine their compliance with required specifications;
- Ensure that all testing and measurement equipment used are maintained and calibrated as per schedule;
- Execute research programmes and activities related to engineering materials and construction units, review and analyse the results and data as well as prepare the necessary reports;
- Review specifications concerning the Municipality′s projects and make practical recommendations, including the formulation of suitable standards.
