The Executive Committee is the administrative organ of the parliament section. It convenes upon the invitation of the FNC’s president. The presence of the majority of its members forms the legal quorum and decisions are taken by simple majority. In case the votes are equal, the president’s vote is decisive. The president asks the Committee to convene upon the request of three of its members.
The Executive Committee is responsible for:
- Preparing the Parliamentary Section’s agenda and activities.
- Designating the Parliamentary Section’s representatives and delegation members who participate in the meetings and conferences of the Arab Parliaments.
- Preparing the Parliamentary Section’s Budget and final account.
Preparing the annual report on the parliamentary Section’s work and activities.
In the case of the Council’s reformation, the Executive Committee temporarily takes over the Parliamentary Section’s affairs until the new Council’s first meeting.
