General Description
The College of Information Technology (CIT) was established to provide knowledge and practical skills to contribute to the development of computing and related technologies within the region. The College aims to be dynamic, versatile, and responsive to the changing needs of the business sectors, preparing students for a career in IT or an IT-related field.
The College prides itself on providing a range of diverse and stimulating courses, covering undergraduate and professional levels, which blend academic study with hands-on experience and competence. The portfolio of courses includes two Bachelor’s of Science degrees in:
Internet Computing
Computing and Information Systems.
The degree programs offered by the Department of Computing and Information Systems and the Department of Internet Computing will allow students to:
Develop the skills necessary to apply conceptual knowledge;
Integrate theory and practice, recognize the importance of abstraction, and appreciate the value of good engineering design;
Obtain a solid foundation in the theory and application of basic aspects of computing;
Combine the necessary theoretical background with an applied focus to learning;
Understand the social and ethical issues relevant to the development and usage of information technology.
