The department of Arid land Agriculture is concerned with developing professionally qualified graduates to be able to lead the development of the UAE society. The department offers two programs leading to a B Sc degree in Horticulture or Marine Fisheries & Animal Science. These programs are designed to provide students with scientific knowledge and practical skills to acquire experience needed to face the challenges in the agricultural development in the arid areas.
The program objective is to prepare graduates who are scientifically and technically competent to be leaders in sustainable animal protein food production. Graduates from this specialization are trained to either assume leadership/management positions within the animal food production sector of the UAE or to continue studies in graduate programs in progressive universities around the world.
