The Group is involved in many landmark projects within the Emirates such as the Imposing Burg Al Arab at the Jumeirah Beach Resort that rises to a staggering 321 metres on a man made island in the Gulf and the architecturally adventurous Concourse Building of Dubai International Airport. A new super deluxe residential development has recently been completed on the Sheikh Zayed highway next to the existing Metropolitan Hotel and feasibility studies are under way for the construction of new hotels, entertainment complexes and additional educational institutions in the Emirates.

The Al Habtoor Group was established in 1970 with interests in Engineering, Auto sales and distribution, Hotels, Real Estate, Education, Catering and Entertainment.
The Al Habtoor Group, has interests in Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt and Europe.
The formation of the Federation uniting, for the first time, the various Emirates of the Arabian Peninsular into one nation inspired Mr. Khalaf Al Habtoor to establish Al Habtoor Engineering Enterprise, to undertake turnkey construction projects throughout the new country.
The Group was asked to built some of the first hospitals in the UAE, including Rashid Hospital, Al Wasl hospital and the New Dubai Hospital for the Government of Dubai as well as hospitals on the East Coast, for the Federal Government.
During the 1970′s, through prudent planning the company, under the leadership of Mr. Khalaf Al Habtoor, began to diversify. At first concentrating on ventures to support its core business, such as marble and building equipment. Later the company turned to other sectors that it is now well known for, including real estate, hotels, catering, leisure, motor vehicles and quality education.

In the last few years, the AI Habtoor Group has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in developing new projects and will continue to do so in the future.
