Bonding, sealing and casting, these are the main skills of Chemetall′s Polymer Chemistry business. The base materials are e.g. polysulphide and polyurethane or other synthetic polymers and resins.
Glass
Chemetall′s Glass Division is amongst the world´s leading providers of specialty chemicals and compounds for the glass processing industry: products that supplement or even modify the unique properties of glass. Sealants play a decisive role in the construction of insulating glass elements. Resin systems are used to manufacture bespoke high performance funcional laminates that can keep out noise - and burglars. Polymer coatings protect the surface of the glass, make it dirt-repellent and thus reduce the need for cleaning. Chemetall′s subsidiary Aachener Chemische Werke provides a range of processing compounds for cutting, grinding and polishing glass.
Accelerators
The Accelerators division with its wide range of products focuses on the rubber and latex industry, among others. Vulcanization accelerators, antioxidants, and plasticisers are strategic materials for the production and processing of rubber and latex articles.
Polybutadiene resins and phosphate compounds complete the product range. Clients range from the electronics industry to the plastics processing industry and even the food industry.
