Aims and Objectives:
Formulate, approve and supervise the professional health specialist programs; and formulate continuing education programs in health specialties, while being guided by the state overall policy of education.
Constitute health scientific boards and sub-committees needed for the Council′s functioning, supervise their work and approve their deeds.
Accredit health institutions that provide training and specialty training, following assessment of their utilities.
Supervise, through the specialized scientific committees and boards, the specialty examinations and validate their results.
Issue professional certificates such as diplomas or fellowships or memberships and whether the examination is conducted by, or in coordination with the Council.
Coordinate with other councils, commissions, societies, and health colleges whether they are located inside the kingdom or abroad.
Evaluate and match professional health certificates.
Encourage research engagement and publication that falls under the Council′s specialty, and publish journals or periodicals.
Participate in proposing general plans dealing with formation and development of manpower working in health fields.
Hold health conferences and symposia for discussing domestic health problems, proposing appropriate solutions, and following up implementation of the relevant recommendations and resolutions.
Set up principles and criteria for practicing health professions and heeding ethics of the profession.
Encourage health scientific research engagement, suggest research target topics, support and finance such research fully or partially.
Approve establishment of scientific association of health specialties.
