General Description
The general courts handle all cases beyond the jurisdiction of the summary courts, such as murder, major theft and sexual misconduct. Cases handled in the general courts can be appealed to the appeals court.
Constitutional Framework
The general courts are presided by one qadi (judge) for general cases, and three qadis for serious cases.
