General Description
The Sea Fisheirs Department undertakes, through its own branches and centers, affairs related to fisheries including:
-services related to fishing licences (for boats, fishermen and diving)
-fish statistics including data on production, boat loads and marketing studies
-research on economic stocks to enable recommendations about production methods and adjustment of production levels
-survey studies to determine fishing seasons and areas
-ensuring compliance by fishermen with regulations through the centers′ staff and coastguards
-research on the efficiency of fishing tools and equipment
